Sacred Tides Mini Retreat: Foraging, Sea Immersion, Sauna Warmth and Fireside Meditation
As seen on episode 1 of BBC Alba’s “Sona” series with The Little Foragers Kitchen & Wild Bathing, at Tralee Bay, in North Argyll
Sacred Tides Retreat is a half day guided coastal wellbeing experience rooted in the ancient relationship between humans, sea and land. Moving slowly with the rhythm of the shore, this retreat invites you into a full-sensory journey of nourishment, cleansing and rest.
We begin by foraging along the coastline, learning to identify and harvest seasonal seaweeds and wild coastal plants. These wild ingredients are then used to create a mineral-rich seaweed salt scrub, offering a moment of intentional skin contact — a chance to soften, exfoliate and reconnect with the body through touch, texture and scent.
From here, we move to the sea for a guided immersion. Entering the water at your own pace, you’re supported to experience the revitalising effects of cold water on the skin and nervous system, awakening circulation and presence. The contrast continues back on land with deep warmth in the sauna, allowing muscles to relax, the skin to open, and the body to fully receive the benefits of heat after cold.
As the tide ebbs and flows, we gather around the fire to share wild food tasters, offering simple, nourishing flavours rooted in the landscape around us. The experience closes with a guided meditation, inviting you to settle into stillness, integrate the sensations of the day and rest deeply — held by warmth, nature and community.
Sacred Tides Retreat is not about endurance or performance, but about direct contact — skin to salt, body to water, warmth to cold, land to sea. A gentle return to elemental wellbeing, guided with care, respect and presence.
Please note, this experience is tide dependent, so will run at different times of the day.
