A Spring Foraging Celebration

Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of April 2025

Time: 9am to 5pm both days

Location: The Old Garden Nursery, Taynuilt, Argyll

Hosted by:

Vicky of The Little Foragers Kitchen and

Heather of Heathery Heights-this needs to link to Heather’s website

Join professional foragers Vicky and Heather for an immersive weekend of foraging, wild crafting, and a shared feast cooked over an open fire in the beautiful and diverse habitats of Taynuilt.

This hands-on event will connect you to the land, its seasonal offerings, and the joy of communal cooking and dining.

Saturday will be spent exploring the rich diversity of the salt marsh, hedgerows and woodland foraging and identifying a wide range of lush Spring edibles. We shall enjoy a wild picnic lunch and end the day immersed in the woodland of The Old Garden Nursery with a Forest Bathe.

Sunday will be a day of feasting and wildcrafting with all of the wonderful Spring plants we gathered on Saturday and our day will end with a fire circle.

During the weekend you will learn:

  • How to forage for wild food, medicine and wild crafting materials safely and sustainably
  • Foraging and the law
  • About how to identify a wide variety of wild plants
  • How to make wild teas, infusions and tinctures
  • How to cook a meal on an open fire
  • How to connect with the Earth on a deeper, more meaningful level

Book your spot now to join this unique celebration of nature, community, and delicious wild food. Spaces are very limited, so don’t miss out!

There will be time to explore The Old Garden Nursery and purchase some plants to take away should you wish, (it’s a cash only basis so bring some along if you think this is something you’d like to do).

Sunday attendees will take away their own wild Spring ferment, infused salt, and infused vinegar.

Attendees from both days will receive a follow-up email of all the recipes from the weekend, along with a list of all the plants we met, used or discussed.

Please note, sadly this event is not suitable for attendees with mobility issues.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance, please contact us before booking.

We want to manage your expectations so please be aware that this is an outdoor event.  There are areas of the garden with shelter where we shall work if the weather is damp, (and it may well be, based as we are on the west coast of Scotland).

We have access to a composting toilet and there are hand wash facilities at the outdoor tap with soap on hand there for you to use.  We do not have hot running water, but will heat water over the fire as needed.

Our kitchen is very much a field kitchen and we shall be operating as our ancestors would have, improvising as needed.  Please contact us prior to booking if you have any questions.

Full weekend tickets £180

Saturday tickets £100

Sunday tickets £100
