International Women’s Day, 8th of March

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. IWD has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.

12pm to 1pm Community meal around the fire pit

1pm to 2pm Women’s Health workshop with Cara Redpath Nutrition

3pm to 5pm Women Only sauna sessions with Wild Bathing

Founder of Nature Connects Perthshire CIC, Carys has worked as a health professional for over 15 years. She has a BSc in Public Health and Wellbeing, is a Mindful Nature Practitioner, with certification in Mindfulness, Meditation and Forest Bathing and is a Tree Babies Guide, a beautiful concept of Nature connection and Mother wellbeing.

Founder of The Little Foragers Kitchen, Vicky is a  Wilderness Therapeutic Practitioner, trauma informed coach, forager and outdoor educator.  She has worked with both community groups and private individuals in Scotland for over 20 years.

Forage & Forest Bathe

10am to 12pm

Join Vicky and Carys for this special International Women’s Day Forage and Forest Bathe, looking at the edible and medicinal foods of our ancestors and bathing in the medicine of the woods.  

We’ll be exploring coastal and woodland habitats.

This is a sensory experience where you will have the opportunity to get up close and personal, (re)connecting with Nature on a deeper level.

Community Meal Around The Fire

12pm to 1pm

Come together in solidarity around the fire for this special meal to celebrate Women around the world.

There will be a selection of wild tasters along with a main course, a sweet treat and some delicious wild drinks.

Cara Redpath is a Registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in women’s health and fertility nutrition. She runs a clinic in Oban where she supports clients with a wide range of chronic health and fertility conditions. Cara travels across Scotland teaching menstrual education and women’s health workshops in schools, village halls and offices.

Womens Health Workshop

1pm to 2pm

Join Cara for a workshop exploring the 3 key pillars for optimal hormone health.

1.) Nutrition.  Learn what to eat and when to eat it for hormone health.

2.) Detoxification. Learn how to remove hormone disrupters from your life and why this matters.

3.) Lifestyle.  Learn how to live in harmony with the different phases of your menstrual cycle. 

Wild Bathing sisters Jo and Audrey run wild swimming adventures and serve the local community with their wood fired mobile sauna.

Jo is a Forest school practitioner with 20 yrs experience in the forestry  & marine environment, with STA Level 2 Open Water Safety Leader & STA Open Water Coach, Outdoor first aid & Cold Water Therapy Diploma.

Audrey is a qualified paddle sport instructor with open water safety and outdoor first certification. Audrey has over 20 years experience in additional support needs, pupil support and well-being, with a postgrad in Support for Learning and a Master in Advanced Professional Studies, specialising in behaviour.

Rise & Dip Cold Water Confidence Session-8am to 9am

Join Jo for an early cold sea dip and warm up sauna.You will learn what kit to wear, how to stay safe and warm, and how to read conditions so you can build confidence in the water. This session is about gaining practical skills/knowledge to help you start or continue cold water swimming safely.

Aimed at beginner level wild swimming.

Wild Move-9am to 10pam

Join a small group of women for a movement session in nature designed to help you reconnect with your body and your strength.

Gentle, playful and inclusive, the session offers option’s to work at your own pace with no pressure to perform. We will move through sitting, walking, balancing, lifting, throwing and catching outdoors.

Come as you are. Move how you feel. Let nature lead.

International Women’s Day Wood Fired Sauna

From 3pm to 5pm the sauna will be available for two Women only sessions, bringing the elements of Fire and Water for deep wellbeing.  A warm cup of herbal tea will be available afterwards
